Making Things Interesting Art Class

Interested in taking an art class this summer at the Clubhouse? We are currently polling the Community for interest. Classes would accommodate 10-12 students of all ages (must be at least 5 years old), would include all materials, and run about 1.5 hours long. Classes would cost approximately $10 per student. IntelliBricks Robotics and STEM Enrichment Summer Camp 2018

IntelliBricks Lego Robotics Summer Camp will be offering two new programs this summer at the Clubhouse.

Lego(r) Robotics GalaxyBots: Travel through space, launch a satellite, traverse the surface of Mars and meet the Martians! Our hands-on Lego(r) Robotics classes provides an excellent platform for learning STEM concepts. In this space themed camp, children will build Lego(r) models like flying saucers, satellites, space ports and program them with the intuitive WeDo platform, letting students bring their creations to life while sharpening their skills like logical reasoning, pattern recognition and modeling simulations. The software also features a colorful drag and drop interface that is easy for students to use and understand.

Lego(r) Stop Motion Animation: Minecraft The LEGO Minecraft Camp will introduce students to the basic foundations of stop-motion animation through the use of LEGO construction and computer-based animation software. The camp’s theme is based on Minecraft and will contain a unique themed setting for each of the five days of camp like castle, cave and end worlds. Students will create storyboards, take photos and animate their stories using the Frames 6 animation software. By the end of the camp, students will take home a workbook with resources on how to create their own animation projects, as well as a USB drive containing the video projects they created in the camp.

Stonelake’s 4th of July Parade

Bring your scooters, bikes, trikes, wagons and strollers to the Clubhouse parking lot on Wednesday, July 4, at 9:00 a.m. There will be patriotic supplies to decorate your “wheels.” The parade starts at 10:15 a.m. at the Clubhouse and will be escorted by the Cosumnes Fire Department.

This event is free to attend, however registration is required to ensure adequate supplies. Please call the Clubhouse to sign-up at (916) 714-9511. Guests will be limited to a maximum of three (3) per household. The first 100 members to sign up will receive a free shaved ice, provided by Local Kine Shave Ice, following the parade (members only). All Guests and any residents who do not receive a ticket for free shaved ice will be able to purchase products from the truck while they are onsite.

Muffins with Mom is Back!

We are happy to announce that we are bringing back our Muffins with Mom event. In honor of Mother’s Day, Stonelake would like to thank each Mom for all that they do by inviting them and their families to the Clubhouse to share some muffins, and hopefully make some lasting memories, on Saturday, May 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mom themed crafts will be available for anyone who’d like to make that special lady in their lives something special. Beverages (including mimosas for Mom), fresh fruit, and of course, a variety of muffins will be served. We will also be raffling off something special for one lucky Mom. Tickets will be provided to each Mom in attendance.

Reservations for this event are required and a small fee of just $3 per resident and $5 per guest (Moms are free!) will be due at the time of sign up. Sign-ups opened on April 9th and close when capacity is reached. Space is limited so don’t delay. Please join us in honoring the ladies we could not live without.

Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 31st and plan to attend our annual Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt. A delicious catered breakfast will be followed by a fun-filled egg hunt for the kids and a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny! Please remember to bring your cameras and baskets for your goodies.

Breakfast will include pancakes (with all the toppings: butter, syrup, chocolate chips and whipped cream), scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, diced hash browns, fruit salad, juice, milk, and coffee.

A small fee of just $5 per Stonelake resident, and $7 for all guests (non-residents), will be due at the time of sign-up. Sign-ups for this event begin on March 5th and will close once full. Space is limited and will fill up quickly, so don’t put off making your family’s reservation. Please note that we are unable to accept debit/credit cards for payment.

Clear out unwanted items at the “Spring Cleaning” Community-Wide Garage Sale

Looking to do some spring cleaning and get rid of your unwanted items? Well, here’s your opportunity. Stonelake Master Association will be holding a community-wide garage sale on Saturday, April 14th, beginning at 7:00 a.m. Let Management do the advertising for you! We will be posting ads in the Sacramento Bee and on Craigslist to catch peoples’ attention. A map and list of all participating homes will also be made available online and in hard copy at the clubhouse. Please let our Activities & Events Coordinator, Janelle Rodriguez, know if you plan to participate at no later than Thursday, April 12th.

Wine & Paint Night

Bring your friends or significant other to the Clubhouse this April, and get ready to create a memorable evening. Stonelake will be hosting its first ever Wine & Paint Night on Friday, April 27th at 6:30 p.m. We’ll provide the wine and the Just For Fun Art Instructors will be providing all of the supplies needed to create your masterpiece! Reservations to attend will open on April 2nd and close when full. A fee of $10 per Stonelake Member and $15 for Guests will be due at the time of sign-up. 2018 Election – Open Board Position

Candidate Forms were previously mailed to the Membership for the 2018 Annual Election. There were two open positions up for election, however only one Member (Hassan Khalaf) submitted a Candidate Form. As a result, the Board appointed Hassan to one of the open positions at the January 9, 2018, Board Meeting. Welcome Hassan!

As there is still one open position, the Board will be appointing a Member to fill the vacancy at the February 2018 Open Session Board Meeting. If you are interested in joining the Board of Directors for this open three year term, please contact Management for a Candidate Form. All Candidate Forms must be returned to Management no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2018.
